Dr Odwa Christopher Mpaka | General Practitioner (MBChB)
Dr Odwa Christopher Mpaka is a compassionate General Practitioner committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care. He earned his MBChB from the University of Havana in Cuba and completed his clinical integration at the University of the Witwatersrand, graduating in 2023.
With over three years of clinical experience, Dr Mpaka completed his internship at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria (2023–2024) and his community service at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in 2025. He is skilled in suturing, wound care, IV lines, blood collection, casting, removal of foreign bodies, Pap smears, contraceptive services, and assisting in theatre including Caesarean sections and deliveries. He holds a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained in 2025.
Inspired by his late father’s battle with diabetes, Dr Mpaka is passionate about helping patients manage illness and improve their health. He has a particular interest in family medicine and emergency care, focusing on continuity of care, patient follow-ups, and preventative health strategies.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys house music, has an interest in DJing, and is passionate about sports.
